So those with experience, is this worth it? Or it is a p.o.s.?

Thanks

It looks to be a smaller version of the one I got from the mall-wart. The timer, which needs to be on at all times and shuts the thing off every half hour or so so that your deep frying turkey doesn't explode like a fire bomb, is a real nuisance. I'm intending to disable mine. Because mine is larger and doesn't have the pot guard, it will snugly hold a 50 l keg (which I intend to eventually use as a brew pot). This one likely won't so you'll be stuck with the aluminum pot and relegated to making Alzheimer's beer from now on.

Its what I started on (only from Walmart, minus the bracket that holds the kettle). Season it by boiling water in it - once you get that grey oxide layer on it, don't ever scrub it off (no more Alzheimer's worry).

I haven't disabled the timer yet, cuz I have another burner. I imagine duct tape would do the trick though.

It's the same one that I have now. Once I switched to a keggle from the aluminum pot (that you borrowed from me), I just took the brackets off. It can fit a 58L keg on it no problem. I can only get a blue flame with it when it's opened the whole way up to bring the water to boil. When maintaining the boil, the flame is yellow and adds a TON of soot to the bottom of the pot/keg - it's infuriating. It makes a massive mess around the house when I take the pot inside. I've played with the valve on it, and it made no difference.

The timer is annoying too. If you don't want to take it apart, there is a button on the top of the timer that you can push down on and it will bypass the timer. If you can find something heavy to lean on it, you can get away from the timer. (Yes.. it's ghetto. I live in Fairview. It's what we do)

It's a great price, no doubt about that, but I wish I had of paid the extra to get a higher quality burner.
