FS House in Bridgewater

Post by GuingesRock » Sat Jul 26, 2014 7:20 am

Selling my old house in Bridgewater, been renting it out for past 8 years, it was nostalgic going back to get the keys last week: http://beta.realtor.ca/propertyDetails. ... d=14714033" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Has a great basement room for brewing, but I wasn't brewing back then.

Yes! especially since the whole house stinks of cigarette smoke. Is there anything I can do about that? Do I have to rip out and replace all the carpets and underlay?

That and probably a fresh coat of paint throughout the house. It's hard to get rid of.

Pay someone to wash the walls, steam the carpets, and run an ozone generator after they are gone. Rentals should not have carpet though.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Repaint with this as primer. http://reviews.homedepot.com/1999/20201 ... eviews.htm

My Brother had a fire a couple of months ago. $60-80k damage with most being smoke. They used the above to seal the walls after scrubbing them.
Turf the carpet and under pad too.
Ozone machines also work as a part of the complete process.

Or lower the price a bit and hope for a smoker or handyman to buy it!

Smoky smell gone now, I had air purifier's running in there, the kind that also produce some ozone. Price reduced today again to $114,000.
