Fyi, we can't do this at Liverpool St again. We've outgrown that location.

I think moving it to a bigger space is a good idea. It was pretty full last year and I suspect it will grow again this year.

It would be ideal if we could find some sort of private space to rent, similar to what they do with BSB - though not as elaborate..a field would be fine, or maybe a field with a building that could provide cover if it happens to rain again this year.

If we could find such a spot, I think most attendees wouldn't have a problem pitching in their portion to cover the cost of the rental.

Throwing in my 2 pints worth here..

Big venue sounds great, but I'd warn against getting too far 'out of town'. I think the reason it's been so successful and growing is because of the ease of access to hotels in the area, cabs, etc (and because the whole forum/club has gotten huge!).

That being said, I don't see why a venue couldn't be found that meets the requirements (bigger area and still accessible).

Did I mention Sep. 27th looks like an amazing date for such an event.. 8-) (Ok I'll stop now, ha)

Are there any liability issues doing it that way? will the organizers/club need insurance?

Agree with Tim's points about access and Mark's about liability. A privately owned piece of property is likely the easiest route.

Got 80 acres in Baie Verte, NB, a function room that seats 80, if we move to the fermentation hall, can probably squeeze 150. Bring you tents and trailors. This option is available at no charge.

That's very generous!

Ps. This must be you?: http://www.winegardenestate.com/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You make wine and have a distillery there? You'd have to lock it all away on the day :)

Have chains, can lock door, and one hell of a German Shepherd, haha. The offer stands if the interest is there.

The above are great points and offers. Lets discuss if there is even a remote possibility this would be held outside HRM. I have the deck and property to accommodate with near by camp ground/hotels/rooms/cabs but sense the attendance wouldn't be the same outside HRM. I agree that the easy access to hotels, cabs and large member base in HRM contribute to the continued success. I feel this should be held at a Brewnosers home.

Kathleen says we could do it here too. We have a big old house on two acres in the middle of Wolfville, we bought it as a speculative thing and fixed it up and it’s on the market. It has been on the market for two years and hasn’t sold yet, but it could sell. Lots of hotels and B&B’s, taxis etc. and people could bring sleeping bags and kip out on the floor.

Just throwing it in the mix.

Just FYI, a liquor license for a day is $35, and one easy to fill out form.

X, pm me and we can discuss a bit of sponsorship funding if you want.

Only problem is:
I understand that liquor must be purchased from the NS Liquor Corp., an Agency Store, Winery or Micro-Brewery under authority
of the liquor license. Homemade alcoholic beverages or donated liquor is not permitted.

I'm not sure how much planning I can put into it this year. In the midst of a possible job change that will make life busy in the short term.
