Hoptoberfest 2018: September 22
Last year's Hoptoberfest was a great success and several of us have been talking about maintaining the momentum this year. I'm willing to host again this year in the west end of Halifax but unfortunately am only certain I'll be available on September 22. If that date doesn't work for most people someone else with a central location will have to host. Otherwise let's move forward with the organization so this year's event is even better than last year's.
If you want to come fill out the sign-up sheet so we have an idea of who's likely coming and what they're bringing.
We need some volunteers to help with the organization as there are many tasks to undertake (ice, food, promotion, sponsorship, etc.). Check out previous years' threads on the topic if you want to know more or contact me or Chalmers.

It looks as if we have enough interest in September 22 to go with this date. Let's start planning. Sign up now if you think you can come.

I'm a bit of a lurker but I'd love to participate and help out. Do I need some sort of tenure to show up?
What can I do other than bring a keg or two? I could make a few dozen jalapeno poppers.

No tenure required. Sign up, bring a keg (or two, entirely up to you) and bring along some snacks if so desired. It's an awesome event, a great time to meet a lot of folks from the forum.ahunt wrote:I'm a bit of a lurker but I'd love to participate and help out. Do I need some sort of tenure to show up?

Hey, less than two weeks to go. Can someone pick up some ice the day of? We've gotten it from local brew pubs in the past so should be able to again this year.

Four days to go. I still need someone who can pick up ice on Saturday morning. Otherwise it will be a warm beer day.

I’m going to have to sit this one out, I’ll be out of the city at the time. Boo. Everyone else should go and have a good time and drink a lot of beer.
Somebody get ice! Kyles hosting, he can’t be responsible for everything.

Excellent (the ice part, that is). We usually get it from a pub in the morning, so that their ice machine has time to refresh the supply for the afternoon. We need about six coolers' worth. I can provide four coolers.
Does anyone have any pub/restaurant contacts that can help? I'll ask Phyl about Rockbottom.

Re: Hoptoberfest 2018: September 22
Hey everyone, Hoptoberfest is on for today. Drop by any time between 4 p.m. and midnight. If you want to drop off kegs earlier in the day just leave them in the backyard. We haven't found an ice supplier so I ask anyone who can to pick up some bags of ice on their way here.
If you don't have beer you can bring snacks. The barbecue will be available so bring your own burgers, dogs, etc. to cook.
Everwood Ave Brew shop has donated prizes for the evening so we'll have some sort of draw or contest for them.
The afternoon and evening forecast is for clouds but no rain so we should be fine. Just in case we need them I have a gazebo, awning, and patio umbrellas. We can head indoors if it gets too cool in the evening.
