Hey guys,
I think its time to find out who is actually in the Tantramar region. I know Andy and Jeff, but I have heard rumors of others lurking about. I think we should come together for a tasting and start our own chapter. I should be free of my heavy work load by the end of next week. Maybe we could do a meeting on the 18th at my place? I live in an smallish apartment, but it has glasses, CO2, kegs and lots of tasty brews. I am flexible on the date, I just figured I would throw a number out there to start the discussion. I also would be happy to head over to Amhurst if that works better for people. I know some other people from the area that are not yet on the site, they might be interested in a tasting as well. I can see if they want to come out to increase our numbers so we can drink more without getting to pissed to drive home.
Cheers,
Graham

You beat me to it. I saw the Alelanders post & thought we should do the same. I was gonna suggest the same night as the regular BN meeting, but that day works for me. My place is available too, though if Jeff wants to host so he can be home with his little one, I'm fine with it.

That should probably work for me as well. I'd be fine with travelling across the marsh. We're going through a teething period with our six month old (that seems to be lasting forever

on and off) so not sure I'd be able to host right now anyway since sleep is a bit of a scarce commodity around here these days…

I'm good with when ever. If you guys want to wait to be in sync with the Halifax group, that's fine by me. But I am also good with any excuse to drink good beer at almost any time and two weeks away is better to me then four.

So the 18th it is then? Hopefully my latest IPA will be ready by then, I'll have to try and get it bottled this weekend if I can. Will also have to set aside a bottle or two of my Saison to bring along.
As we get closer to the date let us know if there's anything we can bring along, food or otherwise.

Just have it on the 18th this month, then on the 2nd Tuesday of the month after that?

We would like to see you guys (and the Aleanders) in Halifax once in a while. How about a different night of the month so that when you have the option of coming to Halifax on the second Tuesday you're not faced with a conflict?

Yes, I want to keep 'regular' BN night free, but where its only 3 of us marsh-dewllers so far, I don't see a need to commit to any particular night. Just work with when folks are available.

Normally I would offer up my deck, but the sudden change in weather might not make that very fun. However, I have a finished basement and a bunch of glassware - I'm fine with meeting in Bagtown too.
I propose Sackville-Amherst Area Zymurgists --> SAAZ

Nice, that acronym works out nicely.

Any objections to hosting this at my place? My wife works until 7pm.
Graham, are you able arrange transportation if we meet in Amherst? Obviously, bring anyone that you think would enjoy themselves.

That would definitely work for me. Anything I can bring along food wise? Hoping that my latest IPA is ready to drink so I can bring a couple bottles along. If not, I think I have a bottle or two left of my Saison.

I'm good with chips &/or cracker and cheese or something similar, but don't knock yerself out. I'll try to provide something similar.
The saison was quite tasty, but I'm also happy providing some Quality Control analysis on your IPA.

Any nut allergies in the group? Was thinking about bringing along some orange-chipotle pecans...

My daughter is allergic to peanuts (but not tree nuts), but I doubt she'll join us for a pint. Feel free to bring 'em.
PS - don't worry about any 'may contain' messages - she actually has to ingest them to have a reaction.

Those are so addictive. I want some now...

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the
absolute letter.

They sure are. One of my favorite snacks. Though I usually end up in trouble for it because I poach the wife's baking pecans and forget to replace them.

I just wanted to list our tasting so we can remember what we had:
Graham's Hoppy Brown (yet to be properly named)
Jeff's Havest Moon (Saison)
Samichlaus classic
Jeff's Bedtime story IPA
Andy's Brett Old Ale (sour)
Lagunitas little something wild
Dieu de Ciel Rescousse

Yeah they were really good. I am going to have to make up a batch. You said the recipe is on here somewhere?

Was just replying to this and see that you've already found it.
