I would be interested in coming down to this.
Don't really have plans for the big bowl and would love another opportunity to get to know more of you guys.

New England Patriots versus New York Giants. A very rare rematch on what should be an epic day of beer.

Indeed it shall
I'm still working on some menu items, I'm thinking about some stadium food. Maybe some hot sausage with kraut and mustard, crazy garlic-burn beef frankfurters, the world's hottest potato chips... And I'm currently curing a whole 15 lb bone-in pork loin to smoke next week for more of an entree

Looks like I am out for this.
Forgot the wife and I had an overnight babysitter and are off for a romantic evening away.
NEXT time.

There is no such thing as romantic on Superbowl weekend.

My girlfriend started to learn how to drive my car last weekend (manual transmission). Assuming she is comfortable enough to drive me home from the city Sunday night I will be there. I am pushing her to go out every day and practice, but she still has lots of trouble with stops on hills/cars riding her bumper.

That's what I told her, but lack of confidance in the city is her biggest hurtle. When she is calm she can do it no problem, but seems to get stressed out as soon as one thing doesn't go smoothly.akr71 wrote:Spring Garden Rd is pretty flat.mgc wrote:My girlfriend started to learn how to drive my car last weekend (manual transmission). I'll be in the Ottawa Valley, but thanks for the offer.
I only learned to drive manual in the last 2 years. Trial by fire I say. Stop & go through a series of stop lights and you catch on pretty quick!

I learned from the first time I, unknown to her, "borrowed" my moms car. It has been interesting explaining how to do it to someone who already knows how to drive. I think if she gets out every day she will have it down by the weekend, I just need a stronger incentive then driving me to a superbowl party to keep her practicing.akr71 wrote:I'll be in the Ottawa Valley, but thanks for the offer.

I remember teaching my wife to drive manual just after we moved to Alberta on our (relatively new at that point) Honda Civic. I had tried to teach her before that on my F-150, but she was having none of that. It wasn't nearly as painful process as I had expected it to be but there was definitely that lingering burnt clutch smell after a couple of our lessons.mgc wrote:I learned from the first time I, unknown to her, "borrowed" my moms car. I learned to drive stick on a 5-ton farm truck when I was about 10 years old and have never owned an automatic vehicle.

I've only ever owned standards.... first learned to drive on one, and never looked back.
Wife only really got the hang of standard-shift vehicles after she learned to ride a motorcycle.

I'm currently smoking the bone-in pork loin (cured last week) with the oak spirals out of the batch of 'Wreckoning' RIS
We're going to have some wicked smoked chops for game day at the pub, should be tasty!
