But the beers here are still very good. Went through a few on Friday afternoon, sitting in the window in the sun like a cat.
The Imperial Stout was really good, then I had another where I made the server put 1/3 raspberry wheat, 2/3 Imp Stout in the glass. Really good "Dessert Beer".
The IPA was, as everyone seems to want to say, not a really full IPA, but it is more than I recall (hadn't been in in a while).
They were sold out of Cream Ale. Very busy.
The red was maybe the best it has been in a while. On a handpump this would have been very reminiscent of a good pint of Bitter in the south of England.
The chicken wings were really good - the menu has changed a lot, and these were excellent.
This place will probably be gone later this year when hat building comes down, so maybe you might consider a visit. I think I'll talk to Lorne about a cask day with my handpump on the bar. Any of you who attended those a few years back will remember them fondly. Except for the Barleywine fiasco, where everyone in the bar, including most staff, were hammered. Barley Wine on a handpump shold be classified as a dangerous substance.
