All extract Imperial IPA

Post by donking » Thu Feb 19, 2015 1:00 pm

Hi,

I am looking for an all extract Imperial IPA recipe. I just ordered some chinook hops and will probably order other types of hops soon.

I recommend you add some speciality grains for complexity. Either way the below link will help. The extract version is under the all grain. You could use Chinook in place of Columbus.

Can I recommend designing your own. Make a simple beer with one hop type. You'll learn that hop. It will be delicious, then go from there. That's what I did. I still have cravings for my old "Batch 4" as it was called. It was 10 gal water with 3kg light DME, 3kg amber DME, 8oz of Cascade leaf hops boiled for 15 minutes and US-05. I made it again and again. It was hop heaven and boozy.

I made this one with extract and it was great. Everyone who tried it loved it.

Glad to hear Jeff. I thought I would make it again sooner since the exchange but haven't. I'd like to have it on tap as I bottled all mine for the exchange and didn't have much left.
