BrewNosers community BIAB from www.biab-brewing.com
New & improved custom bags coming soon!
Tonight we will be producing a prototype of the new bag. The prototype will be sized to fit keggles & the OBK 15g pot, and we would like to offer it up to fellow BrewNosers so they can give BIAB a try. This bag will be a "try it out, and pass it along" type of deal.
I'd like someone who currently uses one of our BIAB bags, uses a keggle or 15g OBK pot, and plans to brew in the next week to try it first.
Pictures of new bag to follow tonight!

Here it is. We added webbing around the top of the bag to increase strength and provide a way to tighten the bag around your kettle/keggle. One end of the webbing is detached from the bag and has velcro so you can adjust the tension around your kettle. We added the web address to the webbing - however - Becky needs to drink less homebrew when sewing...note how "wavy" the embroidery is

Props to Becky for that job. Now go make some money before it gets copied and made in China, lol.

I'm hoping to brew this weekend, Sunday morning, but will be playing it by ear.

I can't see a 10g batch happening in a 15g pot..I mean, there are ways to do it, but not following the traditional no sparge method.CorneliusAlphonse wrote:I am planning to order an OBK 15g pot but have not yet. Could it do a 10gal BIAB?

Make sense. Maybe in a 19 gallon one. I've been debating between the two (and not planning to do BIAB, but it would be fun to test it sometime)Jimmy wrote:I can't see a 10g batch happening in a 15g pot..I mean, there are ways to do it, but not following the traditional no sparge method.CorneliusAlphonse wrote:I am planning to order an OBK 15g pot but have not yet. It will be up for grabs for anyone who want's to give BIAB a try. I'm looking for feedback first from someone who's used our bags before (Leafman?), then it will be available for fellow BrewNosers to give BIAB a try. Hopefully it will help some make the jump to all-grain, or give the traditional 3 vessel guys a chance to try BIAB without having to purchase a bag.

I wouldn't mind giving it a spin, it should fit my pot. I won't be brewing for a week or so though.

Schedule isn't looking good for this weekend - most likely brewing the following weekend. If you can wait, I can give it a run.Jimmy wrote:It will be up for grabs for anyone who want's to give BIAB a try. I think I can fit you in to my schedule. Did you want to take part or do a Q&A after?

Turns out I will be brewing on Sunday morning. Let me know if you want me to use the new bag. I will need to pick it up before 2pm on Saturday.

Re: BrewNosers community BIAB from www.biab-brewing.com
So Sandy/Derek, who wants to use the bag this weekend? I'm not looking to take part in the brew day - I'm just looking for feedback/comparison with the bag you already have, if the changes are worth keeping etc. These bags will most likely sell for $5 more than the ones we've been making, and we don't know if we will only offer this style or just add it as an option.

If Derek is sure of brewing, give it to him and I'll wait. I "Plan" on brewing but others may have other plans.
