Welded Kegggle

Post by Redsox902 » Sat Jan 30, 2016 4:27 pm

I was given a Molson keg that has the Rubber base and top, I removed the bottom base not knowing that it was bolted on. Two of the bolts pulled through the keg making two holes so I got someone to weld the hole with stainless welding rods. Question I have is it still safe to boil wort in the keg or will affect the flavour or do anything funky to the beer? Anyone had a similar situation or know anything about it haha thanks

You boil it so unless it has a gap to hold bugs you should be OK. Can you post pics of the weld? It may need some dressing.
