Mini fridge dead

Anyone have experience with a mini fridge that stopped working?
I dug my old Danby out of storage and it worked yesterday when I cleaned it out and plugged it in. Today I have nothing... I looked at the relay in the back and it appears OK (no corrosion) but the compressor is not cutting in. Also checked the thermostat and it seems to operating as it should. Anyone have this issue before. I'm going to try to fix it myself before I spring for a new one.

try resetting the defrost timer...worked when I got my fridge...or turn the dial all the way off, then back on again...anything?

This model has a red button to push in to turn on the defrost and I was able to reset it by turning it all the way off then on again... but no luck with the fridge turning on

how long did you leave it pugged in? sometimes these will auto reset after about 30 min of being plugged in...mine is very old, so it had a little button, once I pressed it the comp came back on
Is the light coming on when you plug it in?

When I moved it I had it on its side in my car.. I'm going to let it sit for 24 hours before I try it again.
I had it plugged in for about an hour. Mine doesn't have a light.

How long was it upright again before you plugged it back in?

maybe plug it in again...leave it for a few hours...then see if the comp is hot...
if it doesn't start after a few hours...some people have been shorting the starter to jump start the comp (major health hazard so be careful)...

I left it plugged in last night for a couple hours.. nothing..
I'm going to give it one last go when I'm home from work and leave it plugged in for a few hours. If it doesn't turn on I might look into a new starter relay or just look for a used/new one. I just got all the kegging gear and I'm way too anxious to wait for much longer.

Do you have a multi-meter/comfortable using it?
Do you hear a slight hum when its plugged in or does the compressor get warm? Or do you hear another click shortly after it's plugged in? Usually the PTC in the starter blows apart and if you remove it and shake it you'll know its gone.
I changed the starter in my old chest freezer. Got a new one from reliableparts.ca in burnside (~$14 i think), I wouldn't buy any parts unless you can be sure though.

I replied to those ads, I might jump on one of those. My old man has a multi-meter I'll borrow to see if I can narrow it down to either the starter relay or the compressor.. It might be easier to just get a new one if it's not an easy fix!

I had the starter off and there wasn't anything loose inside. By tonight I'll be able to confirm if the fridge is going to be recycled or not. Thanks again for all the help.

The old fridge is dead... bought a new one on kijiji for $70 and it's much nicer looking than my old beat up one.
Anyone looking for a non-working mini-fridge?

I'm borrowing a multimeter tomorrow and if I can't narrow down the issue it's yours!
