DIY projects

Post by GuingesRock » Sun Oct 19, 2014 4:55 pm

This kept me out of trouble for an hour or two this afternoon.

I cut out a bit out of the lip of the keezer and put in short lengths of copper tube (fittings from Home depot, two taped end to end with scotch tape) to run my gas lines into the keezer. They are bedded in Fiberglass resin (body filler) from CT. The lines are just snug, easily pulled in to hook up to the kegs, and retracted when not in use.

One hole has the temperature probe going through it with a piece of soft foam stuffed in the pipe.

I'm running 5 lines altogether, getting another Y connect to put on the reg. I have a double regulator so I can carb to different levels.

Crappy GE freezer, it's 2 years old and gone rusty already.

Now I can fit 5 kegs in this little freezer plus 2 boxes of bottled beer, stacked one on top of the other, on the hump.

I use picnic taps on the kegs and lift the lid to pour a glass ...probably why I'm getting so much condensation in there as the lid keeps getting lifted ...up and down, up and down.

Any one else been fixing anything?

I finished my 3 gallon eBIAB pilot system today. Gonna brew with it one evening this week.
Nova Prime Taproom
Tap 1: Festa Brew Scotch Ale
Tap 2:
"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Nice idea, but why this route versus drilling holes?
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I made this thing this afternoon. I clean my kegs in the shower, hook this up to the out post, turn the keg upside-down, turn the shower tap on to hot, and it’s a keg rinser outer, that also back washes the out post and dip tube.

Similar thing to above with the kitchen faucet. A male quick disconnect has the same thread. Snap on your pump line and run hot water through the pump and it's lines.

I put the CO2 tank in a milk crate today. Stops the tank falling over and breaking the regulator gauge, also a caddy for the CO2 lines.
