Ac-211 troubleshooting
Grabbed the one of the new controllers Dave got it, it seems to have a mind of it's own.. Anyone having trouble getting it to do what you want? I've set it to 10c and it's now at 1.5c it doesn't seem to turn off at the set temp and the provided instructions don't say much..

I don't see much else on there, unfortunately.
I have no experience with them myself, but are you getting any flashing or error codes? If you unplug the AC211 unit and set it to 10 again, does the same thing happen?

I am not familiar with these particular controllers, but you may be experiencing a clamping transistor. Sometimes they get stuck in the on position.
Try unplugging it and shorting the plug prongs together for 5 minutes to bleed off ant transistors. It may fix your problem. It fixes a lot of issues on cars all the damn time!

Havent used that kind, but make sure you are not using the heating side or else it'll keep the power on forever. Unlikely but you never know!

Re: Ac-211 troubleshooting
I've attached the instructions, just in case these are clearer (it's what I received when I asked the manufacturer). It sounds like you've got the plugs switched, you can always test it by plugging a lamp into it and seeing. Also, there is a 3 minute delay built in to prevent over-cycling, that gets some folks too.
I'm in Florida right now but I'll be back Wednesday if you need any help or a replacement.

Re: Ac-211 troubleshooting
its plugged into the cooling or #2 side. I set it to 10C and it just keeps on pumping away, i plugged it in this morning and left it for an hour and came back its at 2c and still running... when you go into the settings the is 3 choices one cold one hot and the other which i assumed was the window you want it to kick in. for instance if you want to maintain 10c and you have that set to 1c the freezer wont kick in until it hits 9c ..... am i wrong?
EDIT: I am wrong lol

Re: Ac-211 troubleshooting
so what are the 3 setting on the controller? what should I be setting them to?
my only wish would be to have the sensor cord 6 feet not 3....by the time I get it inside the fridge there's not much room for play

Re: Ac-211 troubleshooting
1st is temp setting, second is cooling hysteresis ( has to go this many deg above set point to come on), 3rd is heating hysteresis

Re: Ac-211 troubleshooting
I use 1deg (the lowest), but i use it for fermenting (heating only currently, stuck to the side of the bucket). If your measuring air temp you may want to go higher.

Re: Ac-211 troubleshooting
Does anyone know if the probe (and probe wire) on this machine are waterproof? I am planning on using mine for fermentation temp control with a heating wrap so sticking the probe to the side of the carboy could be problematic, too.
