Brew stand
I'm researching to build a 3 tier brewing system. I thought i'd design the stand and have it welded at a local shop. Turns out the steel and labor are going to be substantially more than I anticipated. I have seen several of these type stands made from wood but am a bit weary about using wood because of heat and flame. Is there something i can treat the wood with to make it more heat resistant or is there no concern about the propane burners causing a wooden frame to ignite?

Some metal flashing should fix you up.

Re: Brew stand
I had this problem a long time ago. What I ended up doing was getting a friend with one of those cheap(ish) wire welders from canadian tire weld some old bed frames together (they have an "L shape"), I gave him my converted keg to size it up. Ended up costing me a can of black spray-paint.
