element controls

Post by bluenose » Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:29 am

ok you technical geniuses out there... are any of the element/burner controls from a range/oven usable for macgyvering up a temperature control for an electric keggle? I have to replace a stove in one of my units because it's old and shitty looking, but still working.

I had hopes and dreams of going up to 5500 watts as I have a dedicated 30A cable
my friend google tells me that a typical oven element is in the area of 3000 watts give or take
