Dirt chicken is an artist.
Maybe he could do sketches and we can source a supplier.

re: the conicals, one day maybe, but definitely sometime down the road
re: the merit badges, I think we could have some fun with this... all grain merit badge... yeast washer merit badge, etc
however, I suppose kids today would relate more to "achievement unlocked" than merit badges

Re: Conical fermenter group buy
I looked at the sanke conversion Kits on the website, in for 80 dollars plus shipping do you think this is something that someone within our group could make, and maybe even improve upon the design?

Something like this? Beer glass for brewer, grain for AG brewer and vials for yeast rancher.

Re: Conical fermenter group buy
I'm just planning on jamming an orange carboy cap over the opening on the keg. If I could get something similar to the brewershardware.com design for about half the price (or less), I'd probably be all over it. I'd love to have an NPT port that I could screw a corny connection onto to pressurize for closed transfers.Dirt Chicken wrote:I looked at the sanke conversion Kits on the website, in for 80 dollars plus shipping do you think this is something that someone within our group could make, and maybe even improve upon the design?

I have started a design with a try-clover and Teflon "lid" with a liquid and gas port but haven't finished it.jeffsmith wrote:I'm just planning on jamming an orange carboy cap over the opening on the keg. Does this mean we need a group buy for sashes to sew these onto? And will wearing sashes be mandatory at meetings/gatherings?Dirt Chicken wrote:I am that person, lets talk about it at Tim's place tonight!HPhunter wrote:I'm still working on my Drinking Badge.

I'd be interested in seeing both of those. I've got 3 50L sankes here that I'm going to start using as fermenters.

Re: Conical fermenter group buy
Thanks Sandy—I think after seeing how I like the kegs as fermenters, I may have to put in an order to get some tri-clamp gear and do a bit of modifying…

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.
