Temperture controllers

Anyone use the STC-1000 for temp control in lagering/fermenting? I've being using a bunch of of old Johnson controls analog/mechanical units I salvaged years ago at Dartmouth Metals as part of an HVAC system (basically free). They are getting a little long in the tooth.

I was considering moving up to JC A419s (nice and pricey) but I think the STC-1000's will do the job at 1/3 - 1/4 the cost (EBAY). Shipped from China. I've got a cheap Chinese PID on my offset smoker and it works ok so I've got no qualms about going the overseas cost effective route.

I've burned up a couple of Hunter AC control units over the years and they wre not cheap. I suspect the Chinese ones are at least as good.

anyone?

Yeah lots of people here use the STC-1000. They are 2-stage (hot / cold) and work great, I'm using 3 of them for fermentation chambers and keggerator.
