Keezer Build

Hey Everyone,

So there are a thousand DIY threads on the net for keezer builds, so I won't go into the fine details. Ask away if interested. But I wanted to post picks. The build took about four hours spread over a week but could've been done over a weekend if I was efficient at such things. So here are the stats:

Freezer: 7.2 cu ft Woods freezer
Taps: 3 chrome, 2 perlick
Collar: ~10 inch made from 1x10 knotty pine and doubled-up 1" pink foamboard
Temp Controller: stc-1000
Drip-tray: Magnetic shelves from Busy bee
What's on tap (left to right): Uncommon Wit-ESB, Tankhouse Ale Clone, Nut Brown, Blackberry Wheat, Root Beer
Left to be done: acquire more tap handles, stain the wood, paint the freezer, paint the top of the freezer with chalk-board paint so I can write what's on tap easily.

This is the concept I started with, forgot the controller on the sketchup, but would still like to incorporate the sign somehow.

I got five kegs in there by adding the 9.5 inch collar, barely fit in my 5# CO2 tank, but its there. I just used 4 "t"'s to split the lines. Someday I'll move to a manifold or multi-regulator system.

View looking to the left side to show the mess of CO2 lines (and not a single leak! *knocks on wood*)

The back wiring. I wired the STC-1000 into an outlet for the freezer to plug into. I programmed it to sit at 4C, have a variance of 1C and a cycle of 10min. Image

Was drinking beer out of it last night. I'm quite pleased.

Thanks

Very Nice!

This is the way I should have went instead of using two towers.

I considered using towers but I also wanted to build the collar to get the 5th keg in there. I may decide to change the keezer into a coffin-keezer at some point, and if I do I'll build the tower myself like so many others have done here: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/coffin- ... st-256871/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So I got around to painting the keezer and dealing with how I'm going to label the taps. I still need to stain the wood, but maybe not, the natural look is growing on me. Regardless I've got to seal it to prevent rot/mould. But here are a couple more pics!

Yep, have my open water advanced. I haven't been the water in a couple of years and I sold most of my gear when I moved to Ontario a few years back, but I'm always up for an adventure. I could always be convinced to bottle and age some beer at the bottom of the ocean too
