March Pump In A Toolbox

Just finished up my March pump toolbox build - it was easier than I expected. Once I get some smaller tywraps I will clean up the slack wiring inside. Unlike a lot of the builds shown online, I only drilled a hole small enough for the shaft of the pump to fit through - not the whole magnet assembly.

I always thought it was best to have the inlet of the pump pointing upwards.

That's what they say, and I've found it made no difference. Once I added the bleeder valve I've had no issues with priming.

Plus, the bleeder allows me to drain the hoses without disconnecting them.. Just open the bleeder and it drains the pump system.

The recommended orientation is the outlet on top.

Sent from the brew timer.

Yes the bleeder would make the difference.

It would seem like you are right.

Though I see a lot of people mount them horizontally without problems; they do look a little odd mounted vertically. I waited and waited and waited to find a deal on a centre inlet pump, they have less priming issues.

I hated using this thing until I added the bleeder valve, it's great now though.
