Kegerator

Hey all,

I'm interested in either buying or making a kegerator but I'm not sure which way to go. I heard the ones from Costco are pretty close to the price it would cost to make your own anyway. Can anyone confirm this? How much effort is it to make something similar?

Costco 2 tap kegerator: https://www.costco.ca/Danby%C2%AE-5.2-c ... 05206.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm thinking about getting a LCD display / raspberry pi / scale and making a dashboard showing how much of the keg is left haha. Not sure if I'll be so ambitious but I think it would be fun.

I built a 2 tap tower using a Danby 4.4cuft fridge. I bought all new components (fridge, tower, taps, CO2, lines, etc) with the sole exception of kegs, which I bought used. At the end of the day it probably cost me around $500. If you get a fridge off Kijiji, and be patient and try to get a few other bits and pieces either here on on Kijiji, it can be done significantly cheaper. I didn't have any patience :spilly:

As for effort, I'm far from being Mr. Handy, and I had no trouble putting it all together. I followed Bluefin's kegerator build video:
