Just looked it up on McMaster Carr. $25.33 for clamp, silicone ring and cap.
I asked Purity for a quote as well.

We got John's to work with flat stock steel and goretex gasket, I'm not sure if it was much of a hassle....AllanMar wrote:Regular TC Cap's are 1/4" thick, provides plenty of threads.
The bevel is how tri-clamps tighten down, they don't work real well without them (theres not much room in the clamp for anything thicker). I've got another brewershardware.com order I'm planning to put in soon if you would like me to order some caps for you.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Sanke thread
As long as it was less then 1/4" steel and theres enough of a bevel on a sankey fitting to clamp down it would probably work. at ~$4 for a TC endcap though I'd just go that route.mr x wrote: We got John's to work with flat stock steel and goretex gasket, I'm not sure if it was much of a hassle....

What's shipping like from McMaster? From brewershardware or glaciertanks the parts would only cost ~$11GAM wrote:Just looked it up on McMaster Carr. $25.33 for clamp, silicone ring and cap.

We should check brewhardware.com prices as well. Perhaps Bobby would cut us a deal.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Our HBC, The Brewnosers are looking for 10 Sanke TC setups with option #2 as below:
Three Piece Kit - 2" Block off blank plate, gasket and clamp (not shown in pics). Use this to temporarily or permanently block off a 2" triclover opening.
Can you provide a bulk price including shipping to Halifax NS.

FYI
Sandy, I have to check our stock on the blank plates. I know I have 50 clamps and 1/2" male adapters coming in on Tuesday but I didn't replenish the blanks because they don't move at all. I'll get back to you.

$10.79/set and +/- $35 shipping. Makes +/-$15/set.
If I didn't have a crap load of silicon tube in my basement I'd do a group buy.

Re: Sanke thread
I prefer brewers hardware they can be slow to respond, but the service is excellent. Very good to work out any issues.
I think they have a price break for 10 blanks also. I've never had an issue with glacier, but I've dealt alot more with brewers hardware.
I don't think bobby deals with triclamp does he?
EDIT: apparently I can't read... Nevermind

Re: Sanke thread
Also, if you'd like to buy local (at Qty's of 10 its probably better to order online) check out Darose in Bedford (http://www.darose.ca/web/home/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). We bought some 2" stuff there (they didn't stock any smaller). I think 5 ferrules, 2 clamps and 2 gaskets was $50 with tax? I'll try and confirm.
There is a difference in quality between the brand name stuff usually sold locally (its also 3A certified/etc for industry) and the cheaper Chinese stuff online, but its not a major one. There's no practical difference for our applications IMHO (I have both).
I've also read that a TC gasket doesn't seal on a keg very well, you either have to cut off the bevel on the keg side or I've heard people just using orings in the TC groove. Brewershardware sells custom ones, don't know if its worth the $2 or not.

Re: Sanke thread
Ya that confuses the shit out of me. If you could add the following to your order. I can get you money up front.
2" Tri Clover Cap
$3.75 x2 = $7.50
2" Tri Clover Gasket Silicone
$1.25 x2 = $2.50
Silicone O-Ring for 3/8"
$0.30 x4 = $1.20
23" Racking Cane
$10.00 x 1= $10.00

Re: Sanke thread
Not a problem. No worries about money up front.
Just a few warnings, they can be slow to ship so hopefully your not in a hurry. Also, they declare items 100% so expect to pay tax on the full amount (no getting lucky a the border).
I've got 1/2" .035wall stainless tubing and 1/4" .020 wall tubing if either of those helps over the racking cane. Its ~$2.20/ft. It's not fully polished like the sanitary stuff is.

Re: Sanke thread
I'll try the 3/8" tube. This is a mockup to find out what our options are. I think 1/2" may be too large. you don't have a lot of drilling space.
But if we can use 1/2" all the better.

Re: Sanke thread
Sandy,
Bit of a delay on putting in the order. I need to figure a few things out for my build first. My guess is probably Monday, let me know if you no longer want that stuff.

I have a lot (4 10' pcs) of 1/2"polycarbonate tubing if you guys need some.
"Home of the Shockerrrrrr!"
Re: Sanke thread
Don't waste your time with McMaster-Carr, they won't ship to Canada. Even if you call them and they promise you the moon, they'll send you an e-mail once you order saying "export regulations are too strict, blah blah blah, please piss off". They do ship to larger companies, welding shops often order through them (if you know any welders).
