I don't think so either. Drill a couple holes in the blank, tap and you can add the necessary fittings.

I'd consider silver soldering as well... Still needs to be cleaned up a bit in the pic.

I think the price was $9 or $11 (can't remember).

Lets try to work as a group and make a few of these and share the pain/expense.

I have some tooling but I think a drill press would be a nice addition for this project. Taps and dies as well.

What was this for? A clamp and end cap? something custom?

The clamp and gasket. He could do a price for custom cap with taped, male or bulkhead.

I've bought a fair bit of TC from brewers hardware (great ethics/service, but very slow to respond) and also got some from glacier tanks. I couldn't find anything local that was comparable. At the time I couldn't get a hold of anyone at purity, nor did they return my messages. Clamps go on sale for good prices on ebay fairly often. picked up a lot last time, worked out to $3/ea shipped.

Bought the odd item local from DaRose's in Bedford also, prices weren't great.
I am in no hurry, but I'd like to know it's underway.

I'm the same way. As long as it it's something that will allow me to do pressurized transfers without a lot of difficulty, I'm cool with it.

Btw, i have a aluminum molsen keg that is no good for a keggle as it has a rubber top and bottom, thinking it may as well be converted as well so i can have two 10gal sanke fermenters. anyone see any problem with using aluminum vs ss as long as i clean w/ pbw and then spray down with starsan? if this is good and can work, i will be game for 2-3sanke conversion kits!

I don't mean to go too far off topic but I am looking for a dip tube pipe cleaner or squeegee to be able to clean the dip tubes in my corny kegs. Does anybody know the best place to get this item from?

Thin wire and paper towel. Put the wire through and tie a piece of towel on. Pull back through.

I've just inherited my father-in-law's drill press, which is still in Dartmouth, and given his general opinions about tools it should be a pretty good quality. I could probably let you borrow it for a while, seeing as I've managed to live without one for the last ten years. He also has a bunch of taps & dies that I said I didn't have a use for, but I can still change my mind.
Currently on tap: Whiter Shade of Pale!
In keg: .
In Primary: Nothing

If they are straight tubes, rifle cleaning kit works as well.

Paul, some 22ga wire ( I can get you some) and paper towel. Its so close to free It's crazy. PBW, Caustic or what you use to clean will work.

My "Gun" buddy does it with a rag with guns.

You need to starsan after but this is cleaning.

I’m thinking of asking Purity for a price for a 2” tapered disc with ½” welded blow off (dual purpose for co2 in) and a 3/8” compression for a dip tube. Also a separate price for 2” try-clover with a silicone ring and 2.5’ of 3/8” tube.

Any other things I’m forgetting?

You are forgetting the cost of parts and custom welding. :lolno:

I think drill and tap is likely the most cost effective route.

Soldering would probably be cheaper, save from buying compression fittings (I assume that's what your threading in)

I was thinking compression for the dip tube and a blow/co2 in, which could be weld, soldered, bulkhead or threaded.

I'd probably solder the CO2 in directly on and save $$ buying a compression fitting. I guess you want the dip-tube adjustable so you'd have to go compression/oring (forgot about that).

Rob

I have a tri-clover clamp and gasket ( I don't know what it's made of). Does the cap need to be beveled for the clamp to work? Also do you know how thick the cap needs to be to be taped?

Ask John about the bevel part. Do you mean tapped for threading? Not too thick, 2 threads is enough.

Regular TC Cap's are 1/4" thick, provides plenty of threads.

The bevel is how tri-clamps tighten down, they don't work real well without them (theres not much room in the clamp for anything thicker). I've got another brewershardware.com order I'm planning to put in soon if you would like me to order some caps for you.
