I'd be in for 20 ft in a group buy

EDIT: I'm out as I've sourced some.

I believe everwood carries those now

It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? Is this the High temp wire you were talking about? If so...I'd be up for 20ft as well.

I don't think Jayme needs any but we all do haha. I want some but don't feel comfortable enough with wire sizing to know exactly what we can get away with.
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

I can check the wire size I use on my current 5500W element when I get home.

You might be able to get away with a 12awg teflon wire (I can work it out) but 10awg is not that much more and would be a better bet. Brian - your element is probably wired following CEC, but CEC is for a building. This is a closed conduit with very high ambient, so you really can't follow CEC for that (I would maybe make sure you meet it, but in reality you need to exceed it).

Liam is right - not buying any wire for myself, just trying to help! haha

Even in a group buy with just the 3 of us it'd be around 50 bucks for about 33 feet each from that first link

Any more thought on a group buy of some of the wire mentioned above?

I'm interested but does anyone know if we can get something like this local for a reasonable price?

I've put the word out with a few electrician friends to source some without any luck. That said...I'm in truro and options are pretty much non-existent.

90 degree C rated wire is the most commonly specified in the construction industry.

Got any job sites with some used or extra's laying around?

Thanks, it's coming together. I'm waiting on a side pickup tube from OBK and a bulkhead for the lid re-circulation system from Dave. I also have to install some high temp silicone wire before I take it up to a boil. Until then I'll be mashing in it only.

we need to get some of that Wire on the go. I couldn't find any leads. Should we bit the bullet and order from one of those places Jayme put up?
