Didn't flare it cause the bend I couldn't get the piece up the neck very far. I ended up taking a set of needlenose pliers and driving it into the end and spinning in a circle while pressing. Worked well. Tightened the shit out of it and no more leaks.

Needless to say I'm running a test whirlpool as we speak!
