I've experimented with a light touch on smoked malt in some brews and getting that same flavour from this. Makes the nose just a bit mysterious. Nice carbonation and some decent head retention. A nice, easy drinking brown with a bit of complexity.

Enjoyed this one this eve, great job Mike. Has just enough smoke to make it stand out brown ale

I loved this. Could use maybe just a touch more malt presence, but that's just me.

Agreed that a bit more malt presence would have been nice. Still good.

My tastes lean towards a little more malt presence but I think this is bang on for the style. The smoke definitely comes out as it warms and is a great touch. Thanks!

This one is good. I thought the maltiness was nice but would have liked a little more roast but I think that is just me. Really nice beer, thanks.

Thanks Mike, enjoyed this one a lot more than most browns. The touch of smoke is very pleasant.

Love this. I get the smoked malt on the nose at first and it balances well. I really enjoy the smoky and spicy flavour. I think you nailed exactly what you were trying to do. Great job!

Love the colour of this beer, nice ruby highlights. When I first tried this beer before reading anything about it, I was curious about which style of beer it was. I was almost thinking it had a belgian type vibe to it but then once I seen you put some smoked malt in it it all made sense, apparently I've still got some trouble distinguishing different types of phenols. But I really like the addition that the smoke malt gives this beer. There is just enough to add some complexity like you mention in your description. Other than that, the beer has a medium to low hop character, the finish is quite dry, with a low to medium body. It's well balanced, a bit on the malty side (which is good) and I think you're spot on with the bitterness. Thanks for the beer, its very tasty
