Just going through Extreme Brewing and noticed they have a Kiwi Wit recipe (Kiwit). I'm thinking of doing something similar but not following the exact recipe in the book. Thinking of re-using a recipe I got from Chalmers for a Wit that I really enjoyed but subbing 4lbs of Kiwi (the quantity in the EB book) instead of the orange peel for a 5 gallon batch.

Has anyone ever made or tried a Kiwi Wit beer? Part of me think it sounds interesting and part of me thinks there is probably a reason I've never had a chance to try it before! Would love to hear from anyone else who's made one before. Also, does the quantity seem too high?

I rolled the dice and made the batch tonight (immersion chiller working its magic now). Dropped 4 lbs of kiwi at flameout. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Had my first one on tap last night and a couple more tonight. REALLY enjoying this. Very nice, easy drinking, Summer brew. Kiwi is there but not overpowering. Will definitely brew again.

What did you decide on for a recipe?

It was Chalmers' Wit recipe and subbed the 14 or 16 kiwi for the dried orange peel
