I was given ~8oz of Chinook from Charles at Wysmykal Farm (http://www.wysmykalfarm.ca/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) He attempted to dry them in a food dehydrator and wanted to know what I thought about them. Well free hops (& one of my favs) deserve to showcased on their own, so this is what I'm brewing Friday. Critique away!

Ingredients: ------------ Amt Name Type # %/IBU
5.50 kg Pale Malt, Golden Promise (3.0 SRM) Grain 1 90.2 %

0.20 kg Melanoiden Malt (20.0 SRM) Grain 3 3.3 %

30.00 g Chinook [13.00 %] - Boil 0.0 min Hop 8 0.0 IBUs
1.0 pkg Rogue Pacman (Wyeast Labs #1264) [124.21 Yeast 9 -
60.00 g Chinook [13.00 %] - Dry Hop 7.0 Days Hop 10 0.0 IBUs

OG: 1.059

SRM: ~14

I'm trying to use up the GP, but I'm not committed to that. Considering scrapping the Melanoiden & switching the c120 for caramunich 120. The 2oz dry hops might be a little heavy handed for an AAA.

I dry hopped my Stone Levitation clone with 2oz. Worked out really nice.

ran a little short on GP so subbed the last 1.1kg with Gambrinus ESB and had a little brain cramp when measuring out the melanoiden - measured out 400g instead of 200g and didn't notice until after it got tossed into the bucket

87% mash efficiency though, so a successful brew day
