I have never tried one of these before and I doubt the PH NSLC will be getting them soon, so I'm going to try making a batch. I found an AG recipe online here:

http://www.notsoprofessionalbeer.com/20 ... ecipe.html

I had to change it to a PM to suit my equipment. I plugged it into hopville and played around a bit to get things right:

http://hopville.com/recipe/1649323

I had to add some more bittering hops to get up to specs here:

http://www.stonebrew.com/porter/

I have no way to get WPL 007 or WPL002. My choices are Wyyeast 1098 (British Ale), 1187 (Ringwood), 1056 (American Ale) or Irish ale. I also have Nottingham. I was going to go with Ringwood, but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

Here's some advice. Ditch anything with peat malt. There's an excellent recipe for a smoked porter in our recipe section.

And if you're dead set on the Stone Smoked Porter recipe, let me know. I've got the Stone book that has the clone recipe in it and I can post it.

And I agree, avoid the peat malt, Bamberg smoked malt is the only way to go.
