Inspired by Propeller's Common, which we were sad to see retired. Hope y'all enjoy!
4100 g Pale Malt
500 g Munich
400 g Crystal 40
200 g Victory Malt
50 g Chocolate Malt
18 L Mash water
13 L Sparge water
60 min mash @ 62 °C
10 min mash out @ 75 °C
Cold sparge
60 min boil
20 g Northern Brewer @ 60
20 g Northern Brewer @ 10
42 g Northern Brewer @ 0 (10 minute whirlpool)
OG = 1.047
FG = 1.009
Yeast : 2 pks SafLager S-23
Fermented @ ~18 °C
Water Profile: Ca 100 | Mg 5 | Na 43 | SO4 185 | Cl 62 | pH 5.3

Cracked one today and it had a mild infection. Hope you all fare better

No lack of carbonation here, that's for sure. Big fluffy off white head, Northern brewer on the nose with a little sweet malt in there. Very enjoyable, I can't say that I detect any infection. Well done, thanks for the full pint and brewing a style that really got me into craft beer ( R.I.P. propeller )

Glad you enjoyed! We had another bottle that wasn’t infected but very carbonated indeed lol

I don't know if this counts as infected but my bottle had a super-mega-ultra foamy pour. Took my over an hour to drink just because of the head retention. Overall sippy enjoyment was there, no off flavours.

This beauty has a nice amber appearance. I think this is the first time having the style. Very interesting flavour profile..I would describe it as rustic. Northern brewer hops are a know staple in a cali common and can see why. Nice and clean brew, well done

This tasted great. It was a bit of a gusher when I opened it - and the head retention was pretty significant - but I very much enjoyed it while putting on a yeast starter (which, sadly, was subsequently destroyed in an accident - geez man can a litre of beer and a broken erlenmeyer ever make a mess!)
