Looking at setting up a Belgian Moon Clone and I found a recipe on Brewer's friend. I downscaled it to a 1 gallon batch and ended up with this recipe:
https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/ ... moon-clone
I'd appreciate having some experienced eyes take a look to see if you had any recommendations. Was thinking of mashing around 154F.
Thanks!

Re: Belgian Moon Clone
Two points:
1. How sure are you of the boil off rate?
2. 10oz orange peel seems like way too much. I'm not sure I would use that much in a 20l batch

I don't have a lot of experience with citrus peel, but from my experience, I agree 10oz seems like way too much. I think there's a chance someone messed up a decimal point or something.

Great catch! I totally forgot to downscale those values so the coriander and orange peel are 10x too much. I hope I would’ve realized that’s way too much on brew day but who knows!
As for the boil off rate does that seem too high or too low? I am not quite sure what it will be.

I assume you will be boiling on a stovetop? That rate seems quite high. I boil on a ceramic stovetop and I lose about 0.5 gallon per hour.
You can do a simple test by boiling a couple gallons of water for 15 minutes and then measuring how much you have left. Your hourly rate will be approximately 4 times the difference.

Did some more reading and I think I might swap the US-05 for Mangrove Jack's Belgian Wit Yeast. Noble Grape has some on in stock and I think it should make for a more interesting beer than just the US-05.

Witbier yeast will give it the signature Belgian character. US-05 will make an American wheat. Another dry wit yeast I’ve had good results with is T-58
