Smoked Porter Recipe

Pale Malt (2 Row) 4.00kg
Smoked Malt 1.45kg
Flaked Barley 0.24kg
Black Patent 0.24kg
Crystal Malt (80L) 0.24kg
Chocolate Malt 0.24kg
Roasted Barley 0.24kg

Grainfather with 22.0L of water. Mashed in at 66.0C for 75 minutes. Mashed out for 10 minutes raising temperature to 76.0C.

Sparge was 10.8L (goal of 26.5L for Boil volume)

Boil time is 60 minutes.

Chinook(10.8 Alpha) at 60 minutes (30g) - 31.2 IBU
Irish Moss at 15 minutes (1 tsp)
Cascade(6.4 Alpha) at 10 minutes (30g) - 6.7 IBU
Willamette(4.4 Alpha) at 0 minutes (10 min whirlpool) - 2.3 IBU

California Ale Yeast (WLP001)

Target Original Gravity 1.062 Measured Original Gravity 1.066
Target Final Gravity 1.013 Measured Final Gravity 1.013
6.9% ABV

Efficiency of Grainfather set at 70%

Final bottling volume was 20L. 14.5 L bottle conditioned. 5.5L kegged
