Just coming in from a walk outside and cracked this beer open. It is delicious. Really digging the hop/malt balance. I might steal this recipe.

I’m enjoying this one too. I was a little worried when I saw that it was mostly the shoreline malt given the problems we’ve had, maybe it was just the pale malt.

The Pils malt has been fantastic and very consistent, I’d happily buy another bag of it!

Great brew, you could give this to anybody and they'd enjoy it, might have it brew it up one of these days.

2020 Advent Calendar Dec 11 - Kellerbier

It’s a simple style but when it’s done right it’s such a treat. Great sweet grainy malt character in this and the hops stand out nicely as well. I would happily drink several pints of this. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, it was fermented at 52°F, but what was the lagering regimen?

Glad you liked it!

Well my memory is shotty at best for my beers haha

I’d say this is what my usual lager schedule is and What I followed for this beer:
Ferment around 50-55F until activity slows (10-14 days)
Raise to around 65F for D-rest (2-3 days)
Cold crash to 32F to lager (7-14 days....if I have patience I’ll go longer)

Long story short I think I lagered this beer at near freezing for about a week, then had another 5-6 days at fridge temp after it was carbed.

Awesome. Thanks!

My only other comment is that it’s kinda criminal that you didn’t call this one “McKellerBier”

I actually did give it that name in the signup sheet, just forgot to include it the post.

I thought I took a pic of this one as it had a nice pilsner malt pillowy head. Great beer, thanks,

Great beer, enjoyed this one a lot. I was getting some melon flavour in there, assuming its the huell melon hops? That is a new variety to me.

Kellerbier is one of my favourites when in Germany and this was pretty damn close!! Tasty beer with an apparent balanced German profile. Probably more clear than the kellerbiers I’ve had abroad. I would easily consider brewing this.

Thanks Cam!

This was a great beer! Balanced, with great malt and hop flavours. Agreed that the Shoreline Pils is a great malt, sad that I used mine up this weekend. Thanks for sharing!

I thought I had already posted about this one, but maybe I had a few too many and it didn't save or something.

I really enjoyed this - shared it with my dad, and he quaffed down more than half of it in the blink of an eye - I had to tell him to pace himself - we've come full circle.Image
