Damn that’s a lot of brewers gold, I haven’t brewed with that in a long time. I’m looking forward to trying this one.

Well, you weren't kidding about the bite. I'm liking this though, it's bitter, dank, herbal and spicy. It's like the opposite of an NEIPA, which is works for me.

I'm not familiar with Brewers Gold, or Newport for that matter. This was interesting in aroma and taste. Spicy, pine, herbal and almost mint. Well made beer and definitely something new. Thanks for sharing

Yeah nothing wrong with this beer. Picking up on everything else everyone is touching on. Reminds me of living in Calgary 12 years ago when Craft beer was just picking up and this was the typical IPA. Super bitter but drinkable. Thanks!

I was getting a really cool currant note on this one. Dig it.

Quite the color on this one for a "white" IPA that's pretty much half wheat! I dig the higher bitterness and I agree with Taylor that there's a fun fruity thing going on in addition to the herbal angle. Nice beer.

That's a lot of wheat, and a lot of hops! And the result was great... bitter, spicy and dark with a pleasant bubbglegum flavour lurking in the depths as well.
And that label - *chef's kiss*

I mean to say dank, not dark, but it was considerably darker than I expected too so I guess that also works.

It's definitely darker than it was going into the bottles. I've noticed this with other pale beers I've brewed. I suspect it's from the melanoidin so I'll have to dial that back in future versions.
I did dial back the bittering hops from a previous version of this recipe but they still seem to overpower the subtler berry and spice characteristics of the
Brewer's Gold and
Newport, which I wanted to showcase in this beer. I'll have to work on hop balance in future iterations. I hope that when the craft beer world gets over its current obsession with fruit-bombs we can explore the spice, berry, and herb characteristics of more traditional hops such as these.
I brewed half the batch on Wyeast 1056 and the other on Conan dregs from a can from the Alchemist. The Conan version didn't ferment nearly as quickly as the 1056 so it wasn't ready in time for the exchange. Anyone who wants to come over and sample the Conan version is welcome to.
Does anyone who was around in the 70s (Sandy?) know the movie poster the label is based on?

Jaws certainly seems like the obvious answer...
