I quite enjoyed #1 and could definitely see drinking more of it.

For the record, I both tasted and sensed jasmine. Would I have been able to identify the flavor as jasmine if I hadn't been primed? Possibly not and it would have driven me batshit insane. The the additional tannic sensation is an interesting touch; beer that makes your mouth water for more beer. And like a lot of English styles, definitely better when you let it warm up a little from fridge temperature.

Great start to the month. Thanks!

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Yeah, it's better at crawl space temperature. I liked the mouthfeel, it tasted fuller than the low gravity would suggest.

Hey all-

For the jasmine, I brewed a clone of this beer http://www.elysianbrewing.com/elysian-b ... smine-ipa/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It turned out really well, it was my first kick at homebrewing beer (at least since the Brew House university attempts).

There's a good clone recipe from the brewmaster - http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f69/avatar- ... one-67344/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just finished my first attempt at all grain using that same grain bill but single hopped with Orbit hops from Dave. Not too sure how it'll turn out since my mash only got up to 148 degs

Thanks for the help and advice with the Jasmine. When you posted, I jumped on the idea for this beer, and asked you more ...where to get it etc. I'm glad Aaron could taste it.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and comments.

Thanks for this one Mark. Like the others, I enjoyed it more and more as it warmed up from my fridge temp. By the end I was gulping it and looking around for another.

Really enjoying this and totally surprised at the amount of body the beer has. I'd like a little less chocolate malt flavour, but that's just a personal preference.

Getting some of the jasmine now that the glass is warming up. Quite nice.

I really enjoyed it as well. Thought maybe a little less chocolate malt but then again it might be too thin without it.

Very well made beer, balanced, with nice mouthfeel. But not my thing, I really dislike tea and tea like flavours, which this beer has plenty of. Plenty of jasmine in the aftertaste.

I really like this beer, not my normal style at all but I am enjoying the body and back end flavors. I am surprised at the lower ABV......well done.

Thanks everyone. Thanks also to Adam for sending me a judging sheet ..that's going beyond the call of duty. This is way cool Keith, talk about feedback! I've been packing and sending to competitions for that, but here you have experienced beer tasters commenting on the beer.

As I said, I found it refreshing and interesting (different), but wouldn't be a go to beer for me. However each time I drink it I like it a bit more. I might like a cold one on a hot summer's evening, rather than a lager. I don't know. Maybe I'll make another batch next summer.

The working man Chalmers brought over The Working Man to Charlottetown last night to share.

my first impression is that I like it, but the entire beer seemed to melt away in my mouth leaving behind the jasmine flavour which, whilst I can't say I dislike it, I also can't say I like it. With every sip I found myself liking it a little more.

It's a good beer, but I'd have to try another to make a final decision.

I had this when I got home from work yesterday. Great beer, very enjoyable, definitely what the end of the work day calls for.

I just got an email and a score sheet from Jeff Pinhey as well. There’s a lot of info in what he sent on how to improve this beer and attributes of great milds.
Amazing to get that kind of professional feedback and help. Thanks to both you and Adam for going to that amount of trouble.

Fantastic picture in Charlottetown.

Thanks

Good practice! Even good practice for writing, as we (well, I) don't do enough of that anymore was surprised how sore my hand got after 2 hours.

Har har. I get it.

I enjoyed this. I'm not really sure what jasmine tastes like, and couldn't detect it. If I knew what I was looking for, it may be more noticeable.

finally starting my advent calendar. quite enjoying this, gave the bjcp style a read through and i think it fits very nicely. maybe a touch more body would be nice but not at all necessary. makes me want to brew a mild ... i might start january with 29 new brews on the planning sheet.
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere
