Granite Peculiar

Post by AllanMar » Sat Oct 19, 2013 12:16 pm

Looking for something along the same lines as Granite's Peculiar for a friend (doesn't have to be an exact clone). I'm not overly familiar with the beer (only had it once or twice).
Was thinking something like the following:

Code: Select all

Recipe Specifications
--------------------------
Boil Size: 8.58 gal
Post Boil Volume: 7.28 gal
Batch Size (fermenter): 6.00 gal
Bottling Volume: 5.25 gal
Estimated OG: 1.056 SG
Estimated Color: 15.3 SRM
Estimated IBU: 29.1 IBUs
Brewhouse Efficiency: 75.00 %
Est Mash Efficiency: 87.5 %
Boil Time: 60 Minutes

Ingredients:
------------
Amt Name Type # %/IBU
10 lbs 9.0 oz Pale Malt, Maris Otter (3.0 SRM) Grain 1 87.4 %
1 lbs 4.3 oz Crystal 40, 2-Row, (Great Western) (40.0 Grain 2 10.5 %
4.1 oz Black (Patent) Malt (500.0 SRM) Grain 3 2.1 %
0.80 oz Northern Brewer [8.50 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 4 23.9 IBUs
0.50 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] - Boil 30.0 Hop 5 4.5 IBUs
0.25 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] - Boil 5.0 Hop 6 0.7 IBUs
1.0 pkg SafAle English Ale (DCL/Fermentis #S-04) Yeast 7 -
Any thoughts? Granite's site lists Willamette and Fuggles, but I dont have either at the moment.

Pretty sure they use Ringwood for yeast.
