Pleasant disposition
Somewhere on the internet I found a recipe for pleasant disposition. For some unknown reason I cannot find the recipe again. But I did copy down in my Brewfather before it seemed to disappear.
My question is dry hopping. Since this is initially released as a New England IPA, is there any dry hopping? The recipe called for the following in a 5 gallon batch:
28g Strata @ 45
42g Amarillo @ 15
20g Sultana @ 5
No whirlpool.
Thoughts?

I haven’t had that beer but I would move all those hops to the whirlpool and then double that quantity for the dry hop.
How bitter is the beer?

They don't publish the IBU of their beers, however one of the staff said is around 60. But tasting it, it seems around 40.

Re: Pleasant disposition
So I brewed this again, moving most of the hops to the whirlpool, and I must say it's VERY close. Color is spot on, bitterness is super close, however my versions aroma is stronger and slightly fruitier taste. Just need to play with the hop ratios a bit more in the dry hop.
The Pleasant Disposition is my wife's favorite and she likes this one even more.
If anyone wants the beer xml, just let know.

BTW, the beer xml is for 11L. I use that size for test batches, plus I love my cute 11L keg!

Re: Pleasant disposition
Brewed another pleasant disposition this week, except this time I used LaBrew New England east.
Have to say this is a great recipe, halfway between a New England IPA and a traditional American IPA.
