Ok, so I brewed what was supposed to be a chocolate stout 2 weeks ago. After a week in primary, I moced it over to a carboy. When I checked the gravity, I kept the sample to taste (d'uh!). No real notes of chocolate...so I am going to add some cocoa nibs.
Wondering if anyone can give some advice on how much to add for a 5gal batch. I've looked at different forms but the amounts vary. Not looking for an over powered chocolate flavor, but I want to notice it for sure.

I'd go 8 oz and bake in the oven at 350F to sanitize for about 20 mins. I get mine at Superstore or Bulk Barn. Add it like a dry hop in a bag for 1-2 weeks. Taste a few times until you are happy.

Re: cocoa nibs

So I need to bake these to add them like a dry hop? Thanks! I was just coming to add them as is. Guess I’ll have to get some more too.
