some pale ale

Post by akr71 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 12:02 am

I'm gonna try and sneak in a double brew day this coming Friday and was thinking #2 should be a Pale Ale - something quaff-able for the back half of summer. Feel free to offer suggestions, cuz I put it together in 15 minutes without cracking open my copy of BCS.

8.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) Canada (2.0 SRM)
1.5 lb Munich (10 SRM)
1.00 lb Biscuit Malt (23.0 SRM)
0.25 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 30L (30.0 SRM)
0.25 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt -120L (120.0 SRM)
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 60.0 minHop 17.4 IBUs
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 20.0 minHop 10.5 IBUs
1.00 oz Chinook [13.00 %] - Boil 5.0 minHop 8.2 IBUs
1.00 oz Centennial [10.00 %] - Boil 10.0 minHop 11.5 IBUs
1.0 pkg Nottingham Yeast
some C-hops or Warrior as dry hops

Sure will.
For 6 gallons @ 71% efficiency and 1047 OG

10 pounds CM 2 row
1 pound Crystal 40L
1/4 pound malted wheat
.5 Oz Amarillo @ 8.2AA for 60 ( All pellet hops used )
1 Oz Citra @ 13.4 for 20
1 Oz Cascade @ 5.9 for 15
1 Oz Cascade @ 5.9 for 5

Mashed at 152F for 60

Only I subbed the citra for cascade and fermented with wyeast 1056
