Going to Vermont next year, and we want to make it all about beer. Obviously we have to hunt down Heady Topper, but what are other beers that VT has to offer?

VT has a bunch of great craft breweries. I'll add this one to your list to watch for:

Definitely be on the lookout for Hill Farmstead.

Go to the center of waterbury and eat at the Prohibition pig and drink at the two other bars in this tiny, yet amazing town. Also they have a great bottle shop here.

If you're travelling by car, that's your best chance to get their beer - direct from the brewery (middle of nowhere).
I liked Burlington - Vermont Brewpub and American Flatbread.
Rockart was decent, and Stowe is nearby/a nice place to stay, with an OK brewpub.
Magic hat was a neat tour, beer is quite MEH.
If I can remember more, I'll post it.

Yeah, lots of Hill Farmstead, Alchemist, and Lawson's to be found in Waterbury, among other fantastic beers from nearby and afar. If you are planning a beer focused trip this town is a good one to hit. The Blackback Pub was my favourite of the bunch. Prohibition Pig was great too. Didn't visit the third one that Taylor mentioned. There is a very highly praised restaurant there too - it is called Hen of the Wood. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our meal there very much.

I just got back from Burlington VT, Magic Hat was "meh', as previous post also mentioned. It's easier to find Heady Topper at a pub than retail local bar patrons advised. As for Hill Farmstead, be prepared for dirt roads, but the visit is totally worth it. I didn't get to visit any Beer retail stores while I was there, since I maxed-out my take-home quota in Massachusetts.
