Congrats to all who placed! If anyone is having trouble finding results they posted on their PEI location's social media and also sent an email which for me got filtered through to my "promotions" folder in gmail.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

If you go to the Gahan House (Charlottetown) Facebook page they’ve posted the information about placings as photographs. Not super convenient, but they’re all there:

Congratulations folks! And if anyone brewed a NEIPA with Summit (or another savoury hop), I may have fawned over it on my scoresheet a bit too much. 😬 Was so tasty, and would love to get another glass of it! I think it ended up just out of the medals in the NEIPA category.

Got my score sheets back, and they were all within 2pts of one another! A big improvement from a 27pt delta last time around.

Glad to hear! I welcome, as well as ChrisL or Jill, feedback on the judging. Especially good, so they can demonstrate that the cost and effort to get the judges in was appreciated by the entrants. Also esp of that means you’ll enter again in future years. 🍻🍻

This sounds a lot like mine! I didn't go the traditional hopping route to be a bit different for this NEIPA. While kinda dank with the onion and garlic, you were looking for more lol.

Congrats to the winners and the judging - It was a huge improvement from last year! :cheers2:

If it was yours, you’d know from my sheet, as I straight up asked the person to reach out. :) Even if not, sounds like something I’d love.
Glad to hear positive feedback on the judging! 🍻

Excellent sheets this year, a huge improvement.

3rd year in a row there was no shirt on drop off however, if they're looking for feeback. That's not a minor thing, with the cost to enter being what it is.

Thanks Boogie, that is a problem, I will let them know. They actually provided them to the judges, and mentioned they had a few extras, so possible they were not all delivered to all Gahans in time. I’ll be in PEI for work this week, and therefore easy for me to ask/bring back a selection, as I’m sure you’re not the only one.

Yeah, I'm not *too* bothered by the shirts, but it's a little weird to get them printed and then (seemingly) having no plan on how to distribute them. I submitted last year and this year and didn't receive one either time.

That didn’t take long, I’ve heard back from Jill and she said the Gahans had them a week before the deadline. It’s possible not everyone at the Pub knew the drill on how to accept the beer and hand off a shirt. Jill said I can bring back a bunch to to distribute to HRM folks. If people are not in HRM, or would prefer them mailed directly, please reach out to Jill directly. And if you would like to grab from me, please send me a text or DM here with your preferred size and I will help.

Edit to add: I assume it’s Jill who everyone has been hearing from as she was my main contact, but same thing goes if it’s Chris or someone else.

For clarification, same scenario all three years. I dropped off the last day of eligibility, the person at the door didn't know about the shirts, so I asked a manager who didn't know as well and I was told that I'd have to check back at a later date. Sounds like Jill was on it, so a communication disconnect sounds likely.

Ya I'm in the same boat, when I dropped off on the Friday the manager at the Halifax location seemed to think they were on their way.

Update: t-shirts acquired from Charlottetown, and I'll do my best to fulfill everyone's request. Jill tells me that the Gahan Nova Centre staff finally found the box they were sent a month ago..... So reach out to them if you'd like. And if you'd like it sent from Jill, she will send them out too.
