Turning up the heat! Thank you for the comments and the feedback last week. OBK is now officially the only Canadian company that buys direct from Bayou Classic. This means we get to offer you the same warranty they get in the US on Bayou classic products we sell. After examining emails and comments we are getting just two products in at first. Wholesale inquiries welcome.
The KAB6 will be available for pre-order for 124.99 with FREE SHIPPING on the site in a few days. When the parts arrive the free shipping dies.
For those that like really like to watch things burn we are getting the the BG14.
Light them if got them.
Cheers,
Patrick.

I keep checking OBK for these bad boys and they are not on the site yet. Plan to order one for the AG setup.

Curious if anyone has ordered the KAB6 and if so what you think of it. Thanks in advance!

Re: OBK now carrying Bayou Classic
I pre ordered the KAB6 back in May when OBK offered free shipping and it was delievered late May. I am happy with it & it has a ton of fire power. It chews thru propane tanks. When doing my first AG batch the tank froze 45 mins into the boil and I was only getting a small flame. I swapped it out with another propane tank & had no issues. I'd ask the other guys about the Blichmann burner as I hear they are much better on propane. I couldnt get 2 batches from a 20 lbs tank. By the time you factor the delivery and propane costs you could save yourself money in the long run. I wouldn't use the KAB6 without a spare tank on hand. I do love the sound of cranking it up from time to time! Sounds like a jet engine.

^ Holy crap, you can't get 2 batches on a 20lb tank with it? I don't have the KAB6, but on my Bayou Classic I get about 6 batches on mine.

Re: OBK now carrying Bayou Classic
6 batches is sweet. On my second batch I ran out of propane with 15 mins left in my hour boil. It was close but not quite two. I try not to go crazy with it and crank it up all the time. They fill 20 lbs propane tanks to 80% capacity so lets say I'm using 9-10 lbs of propane per batch @ 0.63 cents a lbs at Costco for a cost of $5.67 to $6.30 per batch.

Re: OBK now carrying Bayou Classic
The 20 pages of warnings on the KAB6 manual say for safety reasons not to use anything other than a 20 lbs tank. Not sure why? A bigger tank is almost a must but you have to swap out allot as this baby freezes them up and the safety trips so maybe that's why.

I like to bring to a boil fast. Once at a boil no reason to keep her fully open and gas guzzling. Throttle it back and save your consumption and possible freezes. It only freezes up because can open more if want to then a traditional burner.

Thanks for the tip Patrick! No doubt with some more brews I'll figure out how to use with better propane consumption & not frreze up the tanks as much. I love the look on friends faces when I turn this baby up.

Re: OBK now carrying Bayou Classic
Took me a while to figure mine out. I had to cheat and use a bathroom scale and measure consumption as played with the settings. For the most part though I would much rather shave that 90 minutes off my brew day over other burners. My wort is boiling before I can drain my mash tun. Freeing up that time to me is way more valuable then the cost of propane.

I never thought about simply putting it on the damn scale. Great idea! I couldn't agree more on the time savings vs cost of propane.

Re: OBK now carrying Bayou Classic
I use a kent $60 burner, and have never spent more than 20 minutes getting my wort to a boil. Get three batches to a tank. 5g generally, with a 10g batch being slightly slower to bring to a boil, but can still do two batches to a tank.

Re: OBK now carrying Bayou Classic
I bought the Kent 72 000 btu burner first & have since returned it. I took it out of the box and put my 15 gal pot on top of the square burner and it didn't seem sturdy. I feel much safer with the larger KAB6 and the size of pot it can hold. I do BIAB so I wanted something sturdy.

Patrick,
Maybe you could sell electric conversion kits too. I will likely never go back to propane unless I want to brew while I'm camping.
