$.99/lb Grain

From OBK's facebook page:
As promised going to spill some beans. Tonight we have a few special announcements.

OntarioBeerKegs is glad to announce the newest member to our team. Rose MacDougald has experience assisting Mental health patients. We are positive she is the correct choice for our team. She will be joining us starting Feb 25th as she embarks on her new path as an inventory specialist. If she answers the phone just say "I am not the drone you are looking for" and hang up. It will still make me giggle years from now.

The big news:

99 cents a pound for grain. Any grain! This is not a special. We plan to keep the prices there. Keep in mind our parcels cap at 55lbs and you will be asked for adjustments if exceed it. This is a huge win for Canada. We expect other shops to lower prices very fast. So even if you do not buy from us you still win.

Keep your stick on the ice.

I once remember Northern Brewer saying they could clean up if they ever decided to get into the Canadian market. At this rate, I'd say they'd get killed, lol.

That would certainly be appropriate...

When does the $0.99 grain price start? I see that grain prices are still variable on your website. Need me some grain!!! :)

Aiming for March 1st. Have machinery still getting installed. And of course need to find a way to stop the inevitable orders of nothing but enough grain to fill a bunker! We are hoping to get the grains sold at a cost basis to increase sales in other areas. Not to sell grain at a loss and only grain.

Makes sense. I'll likely be ordering a pot with some grain to fill it up

Saw it and wondered if it included specialty grains or just base grains. Cheaper than NG, even with delivery, for specialty.

"99 cents a pound for grain. Any grain!"

Trying to get this LIVE as soon as possible. Almost have the packer configured correctly. Programming has been set up so can never weigh under but can weigh over by .5oz. Need the automation in place before we proceed. Have one other hurdle struggling with on website programming. We are capping the amount of grains can place an order. The intent is to provide cost effective brew-days not a way to get cost prices on silos!

Just waiting for confirmation from Germany about something. It is EXTREMELY probable we have another round of news coming soon. Any guesses?

That's a great guess! I believe that Patrick has a 50L Braumeister as well.

Our refrigerated train car holding our shipment arrives next week. Six varieties of German hops will be sold for .99 an ounce. This is about a 40% discount over the average price in Canada. Pounds on those varieties will be 9.99 This is a decent price even if in the USA. We are fairly confident we can keep these prices for the rest of the year.

It is no secret our shipping is cheap. We have been subsidizing since we started. The Ontario and Quebec folks who get a monstrous 50lb box sent for 14.99 know that. $8.50 Express for small boxes in Ontario and Quebec is a steal as well. We found a way to ship to rest of the Country cheaper...

We have landed a UPS contract for far below consumer rates. That savings is getting passed right along to the consumer. Ontario and Quebec will not see much of a difference. Prairies and coasts should see a huge difference. Bear with us as we get it live. Having some coding issues.
