Brewnosers Turn.
It is no secret with each new product launch we go to one club first to announce the promotions going with that launch. This time the Brewnosers get to learn about it first.
We have over 30 malts coming next week and more hop varieties. Not a huge deal but a stepping stone for us. We wondered about how to launch this and decided to come up with a very unique approach. We know all the brewclubs from coast to coast have excellent brewers in them and here is a chance for those brewers to shine and share.
We are going to be adding pre configured all grain kits as part of this launch. Not a big deal right? Here is the twist we want the homebrewers to decide the kits. Once the grains and hops launch look through the goods and see if we have what it takes to make your recipe. If we do send us your recipe complete with:
Name of beer
Who you are
The recipe
Special notes IE: Scratch left armpit twice counterclockwise 4 minutes after the second hop addition
Awards Won with the brew (these will be given preference)
In return this is what we are going to do:
Make a kit with the name submitted
Ensure credit is given to you
Send you that kit all packaged up free of charge, even shipping
Make you a internet superstar (no seriously can show all your friends)

Cool! Are adjunct ingredients allowed (ie, fruit or purees, orange zest, etc)?

Oh thank goodness it is a easy question! Amount of calls and emails today drained me.
Adjuncts are good by me.

Re: Brewnosers Turn.
Alright Nash, I got you covered. Big long lame reasons to follow and I will copy paste it to the facebook page to clarify:
To clarify the intent of this promotion is to develop our recipe kits from Canadian content and to give back to Canadians. We could easily whip out a recipe book and list 100 kits in the next week for everything. I am a brewer and have about 50 recipes. Kyle is a very avid brewer with more awards then digits and a recipe book thicker then a boxers skull. We do not want to just list recipes and say here you go. I have seen that model many times and sure it works, we are not them.
My goal is to have every kit a contribution. The emails, coordinating, and packaging is much harder this way. Sending out thousands of emails and possibly hundreds of kits is going to be a massive feat if we can pull it off. The concept however makes us warm and giddy. Potentially every kit could be from a Canadian and loved by at least one Canadian. We need everything, the Blondes, Reds, Ambers and so on. No submission will be ignored. We do not care if award winning, but hey it certainly can not hurt from our point of view.
If we can get enough content our kits can be 100% Canadian and we can give a thank you back to everyone. If we do not get enough we have to put up our own, which would be way easier. This is Canada though and I root for the Toronto Maple Leafs, nothing is easy here.

Re: Brewnosers Turn.
Alright we spent all day on it. By we I mean Kyle doing the work and me barking belligerent commands of course. But I think "we" have it now. I would like to thank Patrick Boisvenue who was our first pick and also the Guinea pig for the new listing template made today. I hop he is happy with what we did with his contribution. We have roughly another 10 recipes submitted that will be going live over the next week or two and looking for many more. Don't be shy. Please feel free to provide feedback on the listing since kits are spanking new to us:

Re: Brewnosers Turn.
very cool stuff. Great job.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I'm pretty happy with your #2 pick!

I didn't quite win Best of Show though, just Bronze. I emailed that correction in though.

Re: Brewnosers Turn.
Thank you very much for sharing it. If the truck ever gets here we can pack her up and you can see if you can repeat your own recipe lol.
On a side note the recipe PDF's on the kits are editable if you want to make changes before you print them off or use as a template for your own use.

Re: Brewnosers Turn.
That's actually a pretty good idea... I haven't been down to Rockbottoms as often as a lot of guys on here only about half a dozen times but there are some outstanding beers that would probably sell up a firestorm... that RIS from around roughly last valentine's day was outstanding... very balanced. Something to consider...?NASH wrote:But what about all my epic stunning non-award winning recipes?? I want to be a superstar too

Re: Brewnosers Turn.
Maybe I should enter my Alexander Keith's Original recipe - just imagine if people started brewing it. The horror......
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.
