Yeah, the 9 or 10 would be ideal 95% of the time for what I plan on doing but I'd like to not have to worry about doing high gravity brews, 10g batches, etc. I'm sure in the future when I'm in a bigger spot I'll do 10g brews 90% of the time.

For anyone who is curious, the 2nd coupling on this is submerged until you hit ~19L - so it should work for 5g batches. I've normally got at least 22L in the kettle at the end of a boil, and at that point the probe was about 1" below the surface of the water.
