Reading thermometer of keg

Post by ben2011 » Tue Jun 07, 2011 10:45 pm

Hey guys,

Got my beer racked into my new keg today, cant wait for it to be done carbing! The smartstrip I got doesnt seem to work, how do you guys measure the temp. of the beer in the keg? I was thinking another type of stick on thermometer but I dont think there are any around my town that go that low.

Thanks!

Cheers
Ben

I'm never to worried about the exact temperature, unless I'm naturally carbing, in which case I just want to make sure the beer is warm enough for activity. Pretty inexact science for me. And for force carbing, it's so unrepeatable for me, I don't worry about temp, but I do try to keep it in a cool area for better absorption. I just go by experience. Congrats on the keggin! You'll get the hang of it quickly.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
