Hydro'ing a new CO2 tank

Post by ben2011 » Mon Jun 06, 2011 2:46 pm

Hey everyone,

Just got a brand new Co2 tank from beverage factory, a 2.5lb one. Does a new tank have to be tested before filling? I dont see any sticker with a testing date on it... How much does it usually cost to hyrdro a tank?

Thanks!

Ben

I think I may have found the answer, on the tank it is stamped with 04C11, apparently this means it was made 04/11 (and subsequently tested then as well), so it will need to be hydro tested in 5 years (aluminum), which will be 04/16.

Correct me if I am wrong,

Thanks.

Hey Ben,
Got my stuff from Beverage Factory too. For those interested shipped via FedEx and no extra charges for coming across the border just dropped off at my house...

Nice regulator Dirk. I love those Micromatics. A word of warning though, FedEx sends their brokerage charges separately.

Ben, you should be fine with the stamp, I believe you are quite correct.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
