Possible brew day

Post by Keith » Sat Mar 15, 2014 11:21 am

So I have my Allagash clone and Calypso WFM fermenting. These are on day 7 now and wondering if it is too early to move these beer to a keg so I can take advantage of being wife and kid free, also ensure Stanley is properly stocked for when the new Perlicks arrive.

I do it from time to time. Pretend the keg is a secondary and leave it at ferm temp for a bit longer if your worried.

EDIT: That's assuming your FG is ok now.

I always do that. 7 days in the fermentor, 7 days in the keg at room temperature (keg conditioning) then it's Stanley time.

The least I've done is 10 days on the yeast, but if you've gotten to FG I don't see the harm

I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

I didn't take a FG reading yet. Airlock activity seems to have stopped. Looks like I'll be brewing today. I'll cold crash these next weds, and try using Gelatin in them.
