These seem like elegant and inexpensive solutions. Any thoughts or criticisms?

Bluenose bought one and I've handled it and they're very well made. The casing is relatively thin, but as long as you aren't kicking your element during the boil it would not pose a problem in my opinion. I'm ordering the 2" tri clamp one for my keggle

Looks good. What's the approximate cost to build it, complete with element and power cord?

They're nice. If they were around when I built mine I defiantly would have gone that way instead.

IIRC, you can get an element for aorund $25-35 on Amazon (bundle some stuff to save shipping) and 10/3 cord should be around $1.80/m from HomeDepot/etc. And then whatever you do for a plug/etc.
Consider getting a 5500W straight (ULWD) element instead of ripple if one will fit (easier to clean/remove)
These are another option, from what ive read they're a bit more solid built but also pricier. I've dealt with those guys a bunch and theyre really good to deal with tho.

I would of bought these when I put my electric sanke kegs together. I used electrical boxes glued with JB Weld. Still works fine but kind of messy looking.

Jason, are you going to do an order? I maybe interested in one as well.

Here's another option.
I'm trying to source the components to these, but if you want them in the next month or two best go to Brewhardware or StillDragon

Any plan to bring in electric elements anytime soon?

Same story as always, I'd love to, but I haven't had time to source them. Maybe I'll call Camco today.
Thanks

I am on a strictly enforced "no new toys till you defend your dissertation" brew gear buying embargo, so I am just window shopping right now. No group order leadership from me. Sorry.
I second other people's request for electric gear, Dave. Would rather give you money, and trust your judgement on quality components.

Dave, there is NO electric brewing stuff in ANY of the online Canadian stores currently. If you got into it, you'd stand out from the crowd and meet a big demand.
IMHO.

Anyone have any experience with shipping to Canada from still dragon? I'm a bit sketched out by the "shipping invoice to follow" idea. The price is definitely right for their enclosure and it is supposed to be very well made.

I almost bought one awhile ago, I emailed them first and they told me how much for shipping (I can't find the email at the moment). It was pretty much the norm.
It says they use USPS flat rate boxes mostly ($19 or $40 usually where it fits). It says you can cancel and they'll refund if you dont like the shipping quote either.
