Corking Beer

With a big Belgian in the future I am looking into trying to cork/cage a few bottles. I've read a few byo articles and some threads from a nameless forum. It seems the hardest part of this is going to be that the cork sizes differ for different bottles.

I don't have time to drink enough beer to give me enough bottles so I'm looking at using green champagne bottles. I think that this means I'll need to store them in the dark.

Has anyone tried this before with some success/suggestions? Is it as simple as finding the proper size cork for the bottle?

I've corked 100's of bottles. You need the proper size corks. I'm not sure what champange bottles are for cork size. Haven't heard much good about the plastic corks. I used proper beer bottles and belgian corks.

What is your source for corks and bottles Mr X?

Are you following the method in byo? Colonna capper with a spacer?

Bottles are just ones I've collected over the years. Corks I had gotten through and old Crosby and Baker order. Maybe contact Everwood and see what they can do.
