Disposing of carboys

I've got a few carboys that one way or another have gotten cracks and probably aren't safe to use anymore. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

Smash and put in a corrugated cardboard box

I put one in a blue bag on the curb before. The bottle depot may take it too.

I put a cracked one on the curb on the top of a garbage can and I saw the recycle truck guy pull it out and toss it in with the other recyclables
